About Boogie!

Lisa “Boogie Berry” is a music a connoisseur who thoroughly enjoys the artistry of musicianship as well as the behind the scenes aspects of the industry and radio.  She is a former host of the Decipher Friday Night hip hop show on 89.3 fm WPFW in Washington, DC and has worked as an A&R Director for Pasadena Pictures and Records and Grind, Inc. Boogie has managed band R&B Band TNL and Vocalist Ayanna Gregory and has consulted as an Artist Development Specialist for both artist and producers including international musician Itade Boney (father of hip hop artist Tabi Boney).  She has also co-written songs for Ambience Sound Productions, G. Nick Music and other artists. Along with her keen ear and eye for recognizing and developing talent, Boogie is a songwriter, producer, percussionist and bass player.  Solidifying her authenticity as a music entitiy, she holds memberships with Songwriters Association of Washington (SAW), Washington Area Music Association (WAMA), Audio 

Engineering Society (AES) and

Society of European Songwriters and Composers (SESAC).


Not only does Boogie have a passion for music, she is also enthusiastic about working with artist and is knowledgeable of the industry, understanding the artists’ plight in their place of the hierarchy of the music industry. With her ability to see through the outer layers and demeanors of artists and producers, her passion and motivation is finding that diamond in the rough.  When involved with an artist, Boogie is more like an artist ‘counselor’, which most likely stems from not only her love for music and the musician, but from her prior background in counseling as well.  When it comes to seeing assessing the full potential of any artist and at any capacity, Boogie’s input is a necessity.
